Ultimate Orchestral Composers’ Sample Toolkit

Category :Software
Ultimate Orchestral Composers’ Sample Toolkit
Ultimate Orchestral Composers’ Sample Toolkit | 9.30 GB

Combining only the best with only the best, Ultimate Orchestral Composers’ Sample Toolkit is a pack of carefully-selected samples for use with your DAW of choice on orchestral film scores. It is designed as a tool to supplement the former Ultimate Orchestral Composers’ Toolkit, which contains several multis for use with Kontakt. It is a great way for composers to get their music onto the stage, from mockup to scoring to real performances.

Features
• Individually downloadable sample packs. Customize your library to your own desire. It’s your choice!
• Integrates fully into your DAW of choice. Mac, Linux*, Windows
• Compressed using the latest WinRAR under “best” compression
• Royalty-free samples. No worrying about copyright!
• Samples from over 15 different, extremely expensive and nice cinematic libraries
• Corresponding Kontakt instruments and multis not recommended
• Complete documentation on how to use these samples

Contents:
Ultimate Orchestral Composers’ Toolkit consists of six separate folders, all with varying content see Figure 1: Contents of Toolkit below. Folders are separated by genre or purpose. Navigate to each folder for samples pertaining to that genre.

In addition, I have included a demo file, which showcases the sounds included in this library. The demo was made under 5 minutes, so it surely showcases what can be done with the library.

Folder 1: Electronic

Libraries Included:
• DeadMau5 house sample pack
• Pure Trance Kick Drums Zenheizer

Usage
Using these tools, you should be able to achieve a good “electronic” feel without having to resort to popular plugins such as Spectrasonics’ Stylus RMX. Try sequencing these samples using a step-sequencer like FL Studio or Hydrogen. Use the kick drums to sustain a beat by adding a kick per beat.

Folder 2: Full Orchestral FX
This folder constitutes the heart of the toolkit. You will likely find yourself using these samples the most often. Inside the folder, you will find several folders, titled by instrument. Corresponding libraries are described in the documentation.

Layering:
To achieve the best results with this library, I recommend layering several different FX and then panning left and right to achieve a very “real” effect. Note: for the Boom library, this has already been done, so I recommend only layering the other samples.

Folder 3: Instruments
Use this folder if you wish to load samples in Kontakt not recommended. When loading, you will be prompted with a dialogue saying you need to locate the samples. Point Kontakt to the location where you’ve placed your samples.

Folder 4: Percussion
In this folder, you will find samples useful particularly for polishing your strong, rhythmic percussion lines. In Ultimate Orchestral Toolkit, you were provided with all the tools to create excellent percussive patterns. In this toolkit, you can now polish these lines by adding crescendos, decrescendos, glissandos, and more plus plenty of crash cymbals.

Recommended Application
I recommend using the samples in this folder to add rises and crescendos at moments where your piece is escalating. Set your DAW to not snap, and adjust the WAV files so that they hit as the piece reaches its crescendo. The process is described below, in Figure 4.

Samples Included:
• EOP.rar
• 09 SAM Piatti c Samples.rar
• 10 SAM Cymbals c Samples.rar
• Percussion Kits.rar
• SAM Bowed Crotales Lg+Sht s Samples.rar
• SAM Bowed Cymbals s Samples.rar
• SAM Gran Casa Ensemble s Low Hits Samples.rar
• SAM Gran Casa Superball s Samples.rar
• Timpani cresc-dim 8s s Samples.rar
• Timpani crescendo 2s s Samples.rar
• Timpani crescendo 4s s Samples.rar
• Timpani crescendo 8s s Samples.rar
• Timpani cymbal-bowl s Samples.rar
• Timpani glissando s Samples.rar

Folder 5: Voices
The voices folder, being the final folder to this collection, is the last polishing touch you should need to make your piece shine. In this folder, you will find samples using the human voice, allowing you to add that extra needed level of realism to your pieces. I recommend layering these samples with samples from the Full Orchestral FX folder. However, I urge you to take caution and not to overuse these samples, as tempting as they may be to use. Too much voice can distract from the viewer if you are making a track for film.

Libraries Included:
• Tonehammer VOXOS
• Tonehammer Cait Ambiences
• Tonehammer Terrie Ambiences

Extras!
Since the release of my Ultimate Orchestral Toolkit, I have received some criticism for the difficulty in setting up the toolkit. As a result, I have included a gift to all downloaders:
New Library Identification Files folder
Use this updated folder to easily load your multis from the toolkit. All the respective instruments are included in this folder. Simply replace the folder with the older Library Identification Files folder and add each library with Kontakt. Then, choose each patch you with to load. Note: you will need to change your computer name to Administrator and place the samples in the folder C://Administrator/Samples/Kontakt Libraries/Ultimate Orchestral Toolkit Kontakt[BananaButt] for instant loading.
Also, be sure to look for and pick up the legato flute patch, which was missing from the last release!
New Multi for Orchestral Toolkit Users
I have also included three new multis, which contain the instruments for the next, upcoming Orchestral Toolkit release. Note: You will need to have download and registered the cinesamples’ Cinebrass library in order to load Multi A.?

Instructions
1. Move your completed download to a location of your choice [username]/samples is recommended.
2. Extract each folder’s contents and UnRAR each sample pack.
3. Delete the older RAR archives to save space optional
4. Start up your DAW of choice, open its browser, and add your Samples directory to its known locations. Then configure it so that each output is routed to an audio track in your DAW. Add an audio track for your FX that you will add later on.
5. Enjoy your samples

Notes
• These multis were not intended for use with Kontakt. Multis may not work if the corresponding libraries are not registered.
• Tested on Windows 7 x64 bit.

FAQ
A: I’m a Mac user, and Macs don’t like WAVs. Where can I find the Mac version AIFFs?
B: Sorry. There are no AIFF versions for the reason that they are next to unusable to Windows users. However, there are plans to release a Mac version in the near future.

A: I’m a Linux user. Can I use this in Ardour or LMMS?
B: Yes. Because there are only WAV samples in this pack, you should experience no compatibility issues.

A: WTF, why do you think that loading these samples in Kontakt is a bad idea? Seriously?
B: There are two very good reasons for not loading samples in this fashion:
1. You can easily time and visualize where the samples increase in amplitude
2. You do not use up valuable instruments in Kontakt, just devoted to a separate instance of it and waste CPU and RAM power
Finally, it’s quite obvious that you will not be using all of the samples included in one FX instrument. This way, you save on RAM space, and you can visualize what’s coming up in the file.

A: I already have a collection of samples I use for my compositions, and I have them loaded in another VST plugin. What is the best way to proceed?
B: You can either choose to use your older sounds, use the sounds in this library, or decide to go another route. The answer to this question probably has more to do with your CPU power than your own decision.

A: I liked a lot of the libraries you included in your collection. Where can I find the missing patches?
B: Google it. And you probably won’t find much. A lot of the libraries I have included are no longer available online due to copyright business. Though I do have all of the libraries from which I made my collection, I have no intention to upload any of them. What is included in this library is sufficient to achieve a great deal of realism.
These libraries are really expensive when I look online. How much money is all this stuff worth?
Google it.

A: What genres is this collection most suitable for?
B: Supplemented by a decent sample collection, it is suitable for most orchestral film scoring. It is very effective for lyrical writing or thematic writing. With the correct sample collection of FX, it is suitable for horror. This is not suitable for any contemporary genres such as Pop, Hip-hop, Jazz, or Rock.

A: How do you extract all of your samples from these libraries? I would like to do this too…
B:To extract the sounds from one of your Kontakt libraries, make sure you are running the AiR version of Kontakt namely the 4.1.1 version. Then navigate to the Files > Save As, and select the instrument you wish to save. Then, choose Patch + samples and choose whether you would like to compress these samples or not compressed means in the .NKC compressed format. Note: you cannot extract newer libraries unless they are explicitly made compatible. Check your library’s specs.
